Sweet Beauty OP Watermelon (Certified Organic)

NEW FOR 2027 – YOU CAN ORDER NOW BUT THE SEEDS WILL SHIP IN MID DECEMBER, 2026

Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm – 75 days – Citrullus lanatus

A small, oblong watermelon with exceptional sweetness and brilliant red color. Fruits average four pounds. Sweet Beauty is originally a hybrid variety developed by Known-You Seeds from Taiwan. We found that there was only minimal segregation in the F2 generation, and have started working with it as an open pollinated (OP) variety.  Small seeds (20 seeds/gram).

Sweet Beauty is similar to Chou Cheh Red in terms of its size, shape and the high level of sweetness. Sweet Beauty stands out for brighter red interior color, while Chou Cheh Red appears to have better late season disease resistance (downy mildew). Chou Cheh Red also has a tendency towards some incidence of interior hollowness in hot weather, while Sweet Beauty does not.
