Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm – Vigna unguiculata – 70 days
Whippoorwill is an old Southern variety, named after whippoorwill eggs because they have the same speckled brown color and shape. Very productive and drought tolerant bush-type plants that do a good job holding the pods off the ground. We’ve grown them at Twin Oaks Seed Farm a number of times, but it had been several years. In 2024 we were blown away by their ability to produce and stay fully healthy without any irrigation in such an unusually hot and dry summer. Can be harvested as shelling peas, or for dry peas. 170 seeds/oz.
