Yes this is the regular Purple Top Turnip – we’re working with it because we think it’s an outstanding and useful variety! We have started on an effort to refine the selection for overwintering here in Virginia at Twin Oaks Seed Farm. We’ve saved seeds from roots grown over three winters now, selecting for cold hardiness and quality (no splitting). We find this to be an extremely useful and productive vegetable, and this variety does especially well here for our needs. It’s easy and very fast to grow, useful for both greens and roots, sweet as long as it’s not hot out, good cooked, and good raw. We especially recommend cutting the roots into discs and frying. These seeds have been hot water treated to prevent disease.  450 seeds/gram.
