Datil Annuum Hot Pepper (Certified Organic)

Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm – 110 days – Capsicum annuum
Beautiful orange hot peppers, cylindrical in shape and about two inches long. Flavor is fruity and aromatic, a little hotter than a Jalapeno. We’ve been making great hot sauce from these, both orange and green, both fermented and vinegar-based.
Datil peppers come from Saint Augustine, Florida, and are supposed to be Capsicum chinense species. We’ve come to realize that our strain is a Capsicum annuum pepper, and as such is not really a Datil pepper. We first got these from Baker Creek in 2019. We’re not sure the source of the mix-up. In any case we really like what we have here. We’ll probably re-name it in the future. We plan to offer the true Capsicum chinense Datil next year as well. 160 seeds/gram.
