Beaverdam Hot Pepper (Certified Organic)

Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm (VA) – 70 days – Capsicum annuum

Beautiful bright red large hot peppers that start out light green and have mild to medium heat. 6-7 inches long, 2.5-3 inches at the top and tapered. Very sweet when used red, in addition to being hot, and mild enough that you can use a good bit without overpowering the dish. They’re also good green. We got seedstock from Christopher Hoetschl, through the Seed Savers Exchange yearbook. Plants are very productive and somewhat small. They bear early and keep producing well through frost. We grew a sizeable seed crop in 2024 and were very happy with its utility for frying and roasting, and for making a delicious and bright red homemade ‘sriracha’ hot sauce (roasted Beaverdam peppers, roasted garlic, salt). 125 seeds/gram.
