Jin Dong Ae x Mini Paulista F3 Summer Squash – Diversity Mix (Certified Organic)

This goal of this project is to combine the productivity of Korean moschata summer squash with the disease resistance and longevity of Mini Paulista from Brazil. 2025 was the first year of selection at Twin Oaks Seed Farm. We grew and self pollinated 22 plants, selecting the eight that had the best combination of productivity and disease resistance. Colors, patterns, and shapes vary. Most are green-and-white striped, while some have more solid light or medium green color. Most have somewhat of a neck but some are more cylindrical and oval. Flavor is very good for both parents and for the offspring in general, so we haven’t yet prioritized it in the selection work.
