Easter in August Cherry Tomato (Certified Organic)

Grown by Twin Oaks Seed Farm (VA) – 65 days – Solanum lycopersicum

Bred by CWSG growers Kristina Korobeynikova and Edmund Frost at Twin Oaks Seed Farm. Gorgeous pastel-colored largeish cherry tomatoes that look and feel like small Easter eggs. They come in multiple shades of vibrant pink and yellow, with slightly fuzzy skin (like Garden Peach, one of the parents). Foliage is long lasting and disease resistant (like Matt’s Wild Cherry, the other parent). They have good flavor (more notable for umami than sweetness, though they are sweet) and are very productive. We’ve continued intensive selection since releasing this variety two years ago, and are excited to have largely solved the problem of the fruits tearing where they’re attached to the plants. We’ve also made some good flavor selections. Seeds from the initial cross were sent to us by vegetable breeder and Eastern Connecticut State University professor Bryan Connelly. 500 seeds/gram.
