Ole Timey Blue Collards have beautiful blue-green leaves with purple stems and veins. Resistant to heat and drought, they can be seeded early (mid-August) and will produce very flavorful greens even before frost. Overwinters well with or without row cover at Care of the Earth Farm, and can be picked all winter. Wonderful flavor. Longtime-favorite of CSA members at Care of the Earth Community Farm, and Megan and Lalo’s personal favorite as well. Originally grown by Ralph Blackwell’s family in Alabama for over 100 years. 285 seeds/gram.
These seeds have been hot water treated to prevent disease.
